High efficiency is gained by a combination of factors:
Dynamic screening; the product is tumbled using gravity.
Tearing action of the teeth; takes much less energy than cutting, not reliant on constantly sharp teeth.
Angled Rotor; utilises the inertia of the cut product to direct it back up the drum to be re-screened, no extra energy input required.
Vertical Plane Rotor; only the lower portion is in the product, so only the portion doing the work can absorb energy.
